Dysprosium - whats in a name

Dysprosium is a rare earth element — symbol Dy, atomic number 66 — known for being difficult to isolate and refine. Its name comes from the Greek word dysprositos, meaning “hard to get.”

We chose the name deliberately.

Because in modern software — especially in AI — the hardest part isn’t access to tools, models, or data.

It’s extracting real value from them.

What Dysprosium Represents

In the physical world, dysprosium is used where performance matters most:

  • High-strength magnets in electric vehicles and wind turbines

  • Systems that must operate under extreme conditions

That maps closely to how we approach AI and software:
